Disability Hire Vehicles was established after a trip to the UK to research driving aids for people with a disability.
Whilst in the UK I was surprised to see the availability of rental cars specifically for people with a disability.
On return to Sydney I repeatedly said 'someone should start a specialty rental company for people with a disability'
Eventually I became that ‘someone’ - Ken Ferris Manager Disability Hire Vehicles
The following will give you an indication of what Disability Hire Vehicles can provide. It is not a definitive guide, more services & equipment can be tailored to our clients needs.

| Cost | We have various hire packages that vary with product and length of hire period, so contact us with your requirements and let us tailor a package to suit your needs | |

| Pickup & Return | Is generally from our office 10 to 6 Monday to Friday. We know this isn't always practical for our clients. We are flexible with times and location and are happy to provide alternatives, though a charge may occur. | |
| I wonder if I could? | DON'T wonder ASK! We aim to be helpful and flexible, we'll find a solution to most situations. | |
| Other Services | INFORMATION, we are not an information service, but our manager is a person with a physical disability. Pick his brain! If Ken doesn't have the answer, he should be able to find someone who does. | |
| Storage | If you are worried about excess baggage coming to Australia, we provide a storage service for our clients. Mail your disposable personal care needs, incontinent sheets, enemas, disinfectant etc and/or limited clothing to us. Your package will be delivered with your vehicle. We only ask the package be of equivalent capacity as a suitcase and full postage paid. DHV is not responsible for the package in transit. | |
